Default Hill Assist Warning Light

I just got a "Hill Assist Warning Light". The car is totally stock except for my shifter. I'm not sure what would have caused this to trip. I made an appoint to have the car looked at on 7/11. I will post with more info.

Update:

I took a ride to best Best Buy. The light was on. When I left Best Buy, the light shut off. The hill assist is working again. I'm still going to bring it in anyway.

+1 for details on this. I would love mine to "accidentally" break too.

Oh come on. It's not that bad, but it should last longer than 2 seconds. It is useless at 2 seconds.

DId a uphill launch with the ebrake in full the other day. That felt damn good. You can still do that and if you haven't I highly suggest doing it. BIG SMILES.

Update:

I took the car into the dealership this morning. Informed the service manager that the light was now off and the hill assist was functioning properly. I asked him why this light would trip. He stated that it will trip if you start off on an extreme incline. I told him that it first came on in my garage, which is totally flat and level. I also asked him to disable it if posible. More to come....

Update:

Dealership could not locate any problem with the hill assist. They stated that they could not even find a code for the light being tripped. So in conclusion, the ****ing hill assist is back. Damn.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram to see if there is an incline sensor somewhere?

I tried this last night....

Use the brake ONLY as needed... as far as pressure is concerned. On most hills, the pressure needed to hold you in place is LESS than the pressure required to engage the hill assist. So if you don't like the feature, just be a little easier on the brakes and you won't have to worry about it!

If it's a steep enough hill to require enough brake pressure to hold you in place that it activates the system... chances are you'll appreciate it, because obviously you're on a really steep hill!
