Default UPDATE: Bumper & Fender to close together on DS, rubbing the paint off..is yours?

Folks,

I have a SSM STI with a Subaru front lip. On the driver side it looks like the fender and bumper are too close together and the paint is strating to rub off. Please take a look at your and make sure this is not happeneing to you. Please let me know if it is. I am not sure what to do next since I have clear-bra on the bumper. My fear is that I will have to pay to have the clear-bra taken off then pay to have it put back on. The bumber was NOT removed during any application of clear-bra. Advice?

-K

UPDATE:
OK Back from the dealer. The touchup from the dealer is just "OK" but better to have touch-up done then repaint the whole bumper and have to pay to re-clearbra and take a chance on something else getting messed up. The Teck put a small shim on the bracket that holds the bumper on...this makes the spacing look more like the passenger side. I may do my own little touch up thanks to some tips..I think I could have done a better job...but still glad I took it because now the shim is there.

I checked the other Imprezas on the lot and they are all like mine on the driver's side. In fact, one even has paint rubbing off already.

-K

Clear-bra or not... that obviously isn't the cause of the rubbing is it? Take it to the dealer and hopefully they'll have some good suggestions on what to do.

Can you take some pics so we can see what you mean a little easier?

Damn! Looks like its down to the black plastic!

Take that to the dealer... that's messed up! We were just discussing how loose the front bumper fits, in another thread actually...

My biggest fear is that they will want to paint the whole bumper...then I would have to have the clear-bra taken off and that was expensive!!!! You think that I could just take my bumper off... put a little touch up on it... you think it would be too noticable?

Yep. Same problem.
My back doors are ****ed, and about 1-1.5" of the seam between the bumper and fender on the driver side is rubbed down to the primer.
