i might not post that you are 17 since a lot of people on here will jump down your throat for being too young. Deciding between an 07 and an 08 is really a matter of whether you want a sedan or a hatch? Beware though the 08's have been making some really good power at stage 2.

I like all STIs equal; go for the one you would enjoy most

Go sit in both, test drive them. I'd say get the one that is most comfortable and looks best to you since comfort and the appearance are really the two major differences. You can't really make a bad decision here performance-wise.

Well, having quite a few Subies, I think I enjoy the 08 a bit more that the previous years. It has a bit more room in case you want to take some buddies out for a drive or w/e. In the previous models, leg room was a bit of an issue.

However, the 07's were nice in the aspect of having that nice classic body line on the sides and easy to come by mods. I loved the feel of my 06 but, for some reason, I just didn't feel as at home as I do in the 08.

All in all, go test drive both and make sure you get a couple corners in, the way it's going to feel is going to be a little different.

I had the rare chance of owning an 08 first before an 07..

I'll share my experience to you and its up to you to decide.

After years drooling over an STi, I finally got one last 2 months, it was an 08. I had no choice, the sedan body was out. Although that was really the body i liked. Something felt wrong, it wasn't what i expected from an STi. I expected an "insane" car. One that will make you curse yourself all day. I was a little soft. I was expecting a wild animal, but it was civilized instead. I then found an 07 last month with only 600 miles on it. It was pristine, the 2nd row seats even has the factory plastic on. I ended up selling my 08, and got the 07 immediately.

From the day i drove the 07 home, i haven't regret the decision I made. The 07 just feels faster, more linear, and agile. It is raw, no frills or whatsoever, it is purely a driver's car! Just put it this way..

07 = Adriana Lima (naughty and wild!)
08 = Giselle Bunchen (refined and civilized!)

Both gorgeous but different in nature

I agree, a friend has an '06 which I found to be a raw brute compared to my proper and presentable '08. Assassin, you must have taken a good depreciation hit on your '08.
