2008 STi Police Car in the US

My sister went to the fireworks show on the 4th of July and she told me that she saw a Subaru STi police car there. I laughed at her and told her it must have been a Charger she was talking about...

Sure enough I searched the Internet and found some pictures of the STi. I can't believe a municipal would have a Japanese car as their squad car, and an STi at that.

Dam, I hate to admit this, but that actually looks good...

Regarding the car, it seems that the place of the fireworks show, Itasca, is linked to Subaru, hence the car:

i think someone on this forum saw an 08 sti police car somewhere here in socal too. but i haven't seen one... did see a dare "police" 08 sti tho.

Crap! Glad I don't live in chitown. Hopefully, other states don't catch the habit of doing this. It's probably a seizure. My buddy's a cop and he get to drive all kinds of crazy-ass seized drugdealer cars.

I'm in chicago. That Cop will have a little trouble catching a stage 2 car...lol

But No joke on the Seized thing. Our town caught a Viper doing 80 in a 25. That car is now wrapped with local police stickers. IIRC that guy tried to evade the police also. Rummer has it, when they arrested him, he asked for the car to be impounded in a covered garage. Little did he know.

Good find on the information! I know the parking garage by the location where the fireworks were was always filled with Subies. So you might be onto something.

Nice show car but you will never see that out as a patrol unit. Even though the I love STI's they are very impractical as a patrol car.
