Default Octane Qestion

I have my car flashed with a stg1 93 oct map,I will be travelling to Canada next week, is there any problems finding 93 around Dryden Ont.? Should I just flash it to the stg 1 91 map just to be safe? Can I run a 91 map on 93 gas without hurting the car?
Thanks

Hey,

I know for sure that Petro-Canada and Sunoco both have 94. But when you search for their locations on the web, make sure you click on the alternative fuel as some of the branches don't have that.

Plan ahead

Do you know the address of where you are heading? Use the postal code and radius thing to find them.

Sunoco are pretty common in Ontario. And Petro Canada is infamous because they are the first to change the gas prices

lol

I had the same problem when I went to Toronto the other day, though greater Toronto area has more gas station, and as for you:

Google Maps
The closest Sunoco from Dryden Ontario is 12 horus away

There is a Petro Canada in Thunder Bay, ON and Winnipeg, Manitoba, and they are both equally far away from Dryden. ON. (4 hours)

There is a Petro Canada DIESEL close to the town you are heading, don't get fooled by.

Where are you coming from?

We are driving from IL. crossing at International Falls, I think if I fill up in int. falls I will have enough to make it there and back with a little driving around up there. Think I will buy some octane booster just to be safe ,I know there is a gas station right near the cabin we are going to but dont know about premium there...Its a good place to buy minnows though!

Hmmm, according to google maps, from International Falls to Dryden Ontario is about 2h30, legal time. That should be enough for you to go from back and forth heh.

imo, if you were driving only highway anyway, anything unleaded would do just fine. It's not like you'd push it so hard that the engine would knock. Though, I heard one of the stations, HUSKY, has too much ethanol in their gas or something, so don't go there...

I normally fill up in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and north of the GTA (Markham and Thornhill) and for the most part the majority of sunoco stations have 94 readily available. Just make sure you go to a bigger and newer facility whenever you have the opportunity to do so. If you are passing thru the above mentioned areas you shouldn't have a problem finding 94.

put 101 pump gas in at a station i found in OKC. didn't see performance or MPG improvements over 93.

all octane does is resist knock. if your cars not nocking at a lower octane then more is just a waste of cash.

If you are tuned for 101 then I think it will make a difference, but I think if you are tuned for 93 then its a waste.

How much was the 101 octane?
