Default so... i just test drove an 08 that had... 245 miles on it... ouch.

dealer around here just got 10.. one of them was a random transfer to this dealer. 245 test drive miles...
im the guy that wants one with like 12. and im anal. so i drove it, whatever... car seems fine of course and is under warrenty.. just seems to need an allignment and for some reason (and hopefully just this) and wheel balance..
i more or less said i dont want it but to tell me what the mileage/dollar penalties would be off the price etc..

anyone heard of a standard breakdown for that? if there is one..

in my mind, the car is in warranty.. maybe i shouldnt trip..
im looking for a silver/bbs with no nav.. this is no nav/base model so they already know i wanted to swap/pay for the bbs.. maybe i clear it out even on the mileage/wheels.. or maybe im discounting the deduction that should come from those miles...

thoughts.. ???? i have a feeling that a majority of people that would come to possibly purchase said car, would have something to say on the miles..

Not sure if there is a standard "discount" and some dealers will just look at you funny if you ask. That is a ton of test drive miles though!

The 1st dealer I was working with would not even think about putting on the BBS wheels (or fogs) for me unless I wanted to pay full cost for those items. They usually try to locate an STI to your specifications and trade with another dealer. I just tracked down what I wanted elsewhere.

Good luck......I was lucky, mine had 15 miles on it.

Uh, at what point does it no longer qualify as a new car? I know there is some cutoff for mileage, regardless of whether it was ever sold.

Me? I wouldn't go for it. Mine had about 20 and that bugged me a lot but I bit the bullet 'cause I really wanted the car. I say wait for the exact car you want and then pull the trigger. Remember, the BBS from the factory includes the fogs so the factory BBS premium is for more than just the rims.

ya they are open on the wheels.. i think i could even throw golds on the spark silver if i wanted.
but as soon as i saw the miles and told him that most likely, this would not be my car for that reason... he started claiming discount, wheel swaps etc....
so who knows.. it would just be in my head.. those DAMN 250miles.. hahaha... jk.. kind of..
on the other hand.. i bought my 06 with 8k on the clock and never really thought about it after checking it out and testing..

that's what i figured on askin, also...... it wouldnt think it could be much higher or even as high as that..
on the bbs... ya i feel you..
out of curiousity.. and not having a brochure:
other than the fogs/bbs.. what differences and options bbs/premium with NO navi.. as compared to base..
in otherwords, what am i missing out on if i swap wheels/fogs to a base.

there is no standard discount method for a car with higher than avg delivery miles. I also do not know if there is a mileage cutoff for "new." as i believe new has to deal with a car being titled or not.

Legally, 'new' means it has never been titled. Demo and program cars frequently fall into this category, and they will have several thousand miles. They are worth less to most people than one with 0 miles, but they are not legally considered a used car. As a practical matter, the only time this definition has any legal meaning is when it comes to the in-service date for warranty coverage purposes.

As far as I know, the BBS package only comes with fogs thrown in. The thing about the new fog package is it requires messing with the light stalk on the steering column since the switch is mounted there now. No more push button fogs unless you go aftermarket. I got one trucked in from Utah with 13 miles on it, a rock chip, and fogs but no BBS. I was so damned tired of waiting for the car that i forgave the 6 extra miles and chip, but they "fixed" the chip with touch up paint and are hooking me up on some discounted clear bra.

Nothing. The BBS package adds fogs and the wheels and that's it.

Were you at LHMS or MMS? They both have 10 right now. I'm figuring that makes now the time to deal. Take the silver BBSs off the red one with the sport grille for me - I think I might get that one.

dude, squash it. You recall how tough it was detailing 10 spoke BBS rims? Now try it with the billion spoke rims

If I were you, I'd tell them to piss up a rope and just get the base. With the money you save from the "swap" you could have yourself some nice Enkeis, BBS, or Rays/Volks. I know they aren't a true substitute for the OEM offset, but there are plenty of nice wheels out there with fitments that are acceptable.

for example.

i know all that man.... im willing to handle the $1500.. just not the laughable price they claimed..
the bbs will be my winter wheels eventually and i would rather be running those than the 5spokes..
i more or less told them they are crazy... so we'll where it goes.

ps - after seeing 8-10 sti's sitting there and half of them having the "sport" grill... i can now say that i have no love whatsoever for that.. the stock grill is MUCH nicer..

Those BBS would be some damned nice winters! I'm content to have those ugly ass stock 5 spokers to beat on in the snow. I might even go with some 05 STI rims just to have some skinnier winter tires. The stock BBS just dont do it for me for some reason. I think I've become gun shy from trying to keep the 10 spoke wheels clean.

But yeah, they're smoking if they think 3200 is acceptable.
