New STI seats

Have you guys seen the Japanese Recaro seat options? Holy crap they are beautiful. I would like to get different seats at least for me, the drivers side. But i dont want a racer specific seat. Anyone know where to get these seats or know of another good option? thanks, j

Just get some recaros that aren't a limited run specific to the STi.

recaros are great, but there are other brands
but of course its your money, so definately go for it and show pics.

what are you loking for exactly? you could likely get your entire interior redone for the price of one of those recaros.

From what I understand if you get the JDM version you get side airbags, hence the reason for their expense. If you get a run of the mill seat, you lose the airbag and get an annoying light and less safety.

I wouldn't drop the airbags for a more aggressive seat either - but if it were me I'd wait a bit to see if they offer them in a US or Canadian model in the near future. At least wait to see the '09 options.

I am extremely interested in these seats as well. They are not available on japanparts.com yet though. I placed a thin board between the springs and the cushion and also used industrial sized zip ties to tighten the springs to reduce the annoying bobble-head effect. It reduced it a lot, but not totally. It stinks there are not non-STi specific Recaro's that come with side airbags; at least I haven't found them yet. Does anyone know if the '08 STi Recaros can be purchased anywhere?
