[quote=Vampyre;1863808]if you guys dont want dings in the doors then why do you park next to other people? I always park on a end on the passanger side of the other cars and as far over as I can get if its a smaller lot. Theres a good chance that there is not a passanger in the car next to ya. Theres always going to be a driver. If its bigger lot Im as far away from people as I can get.

ah yes this is the dance i speak of, the 08,still flawless,my ladys 04 rex looked like it came from samolia after a year in dntn parking lots,but.....look at that blue rex that the idiot killed the old lady with, these cars have it where it counts.

STIs are performance cars, not utility trucks. They are built to be light weight. The trunk lid and hood on my car weigh less than half of what they do on most cars. Drop a heavy amp on a Ferrari F430 and then drop it on a 1985 F-150 and tell me which one holds up better to "daily living." You bought the wrong car.

I suggest you buy an Evo.

None of that stuff would fit in the car, so you wouldn't have to worry about it getting beat up!

i feel your pain portland dave. it hurts me everytime theres a new ding/dent found on the car... imo, although the car was rally inspired, i really doubt they used the same material in building the rally version vs the production version. im sure the rally version has thicker and better paint to withstand the beating the rally gives it... i guess all we can say is taht subaru didn't use too much money on the metal and paint but did put lots of $ in the technology side of things.

With one finger, go and find any standard 2008 Chevy van and push in the front fender. Then you'll know what thin metal is

My new car got dinged on the passenger side the first week I got it. Door dings are really difficult to avoid, you can't always avoid parking next to other people. I hate it when I park on the far end of a parking lot to avoid being next to other cars and only to come back later to see a big car park closely.

If some class hole sees your lonely STI in the parking lot parked far away they might make it a point to screw with your car.

Thanks. Those are great when your car is spiffy clean but lay it over a dirty bumper and see all the scratches. For the bumper I plan to get the plastic strip like the WRX has. The rear passenger doors, well I'll just have to be more careful.

today on my 06 someone dinged it (1st ding i almost died) it rigt above the drivers side front tire on the rolled section. So is it possible to remove a dent from that part of the car with the fender being rolled like it is ? Also i heard if your car is out in the sun and the dent heats up it will pop itself out?

dude that sucks!!! sorry to hear that. if it makes you feel any better my cargo area plastic is scuffed up too, headlight has a rock chip, intercooler has several rock-induced bent fins. oh well..... such is life.
