Default STI + chrome =No Bueno

So i guess the real question is...Are there any professional Carbon fiber layers in the bay area willing to try something new for the 2008 STI?
I need to get rid of that side chrome piece like its an "STI"
or maybe there is already someone working on it? any heads up

Can you actually remove the sidemarker? I thought the whole fender insert came off as one piece. I imagine you could take it to a local paint shop and have it masked/painted for fairly cheap.

I think it is attatched to the side molding not the fender, since there is a space/gap. I've been tearing apart my fron bumper and pieces, so far it looks like almost EVERYTHING comes apart in different pieces, I guess I'll have to check tonight.

But stil anyone know of any layers in the bay area that will make custom pieces?

It's actually attached to the bottom fender piece. When you install the RallyArmor mud flaps, it gets taken (popped) off and the chrome piece is attached to the side fender piece by plastic grommets. I didn't try to take it off but it probably wouldn't be too hard.

Sorry, don't know anyone... :P

Yup, you do have to remove that piece to install the RA mudflaps. Soooo, if you want to know how to remove the piece, head over to their website and download the RA install instructions.

yeah i looked at it today, the fender piece just pops right off. and the chrome is attatched by like hardcore double sided tape, nothing a heat gun might remove, just like the badging.

i don't really like the chrome strips either. not sure if carbon fiber would look much better but keep us posted with progress and pics once you get them on.

I was thinking of spraying it with black chrome paint.
