Default update from APS for 08 STI

so i emailed APS today to see what they were working on for the 08 STI and when they thought things would be ready... I asked specifically asked about turbo kits and front mounts... thought i would share what they told me...

Hi Marc,

Thankyou for your interest in APS,

We are currently working on a range of products to suit the new STi which include. Intakes, Exhausts, Turbo-chargers, Etc.

We are hoping to have them on the market by October this year to be on display at SEMA.

Best regards,

Ben Shaw

Thanks, been wondering when APS would start producing for the 08. If this is true, I don't think I could wait till October. I've always been a fan of the products they've developed for prev gen subies.

That's a long time to wait, considering that it's pretty much the same engine as before. Not unless there working on something completly new. Only time will tell.

I emailed APS and they sent me the same reply except they said that they just received the 08 STi and just started development. I really liked their products on my 06, so I think I will try to be patient and wait to see what they come up with.

Think about it this way :
They are using half a year to R&D and make sure products work.
and you get a half a year to save up more money to buy more accomodating mods (Fuel pump, injectors, TGV Deletes, etc) if you're planning on doing big power mods

They need to spend as much time as it takes to do it right. Their reputation has taken a major hit lately. APS stuff is expensive, it needs to actually be better quality to command that price.

Similiar engine but the whole layout of the car is different. A few vendors have hit the ground running since their Legacy GT downpipes worked on the 08 with little to no modifications. APS never got into the Legacy market so they don't have a base they can work on.

APS has always been a bit late to the game with products but that's because they spend a lot of time doing R&D and also ensuring that their products have zero fitment issues. I would rather have a company take the time to do it right then to rush something to market and it have issues.

Like Rootus said, APS has taken a hit to their reputation with a few of their products recently and I'm sure they want to repair that.
