Default Back Lights not sealed right?

im not sure if its just my sti but im pretty sure everyone elses is the same? but ive washed my car a total of 2 times now since i got it, and the back lights if u guys look closely, im not sure if its just me or it seems a little weird. seems like its not like most cars where theres that black lining of rubber that keeps moister n crap out? seems after i wash the car theres a little water build up there, so far its not leaving anything bad behind just seems really moist and might get damp n yellow after a while, just a little concern and seeing if anyone else has the same issue and worries. thanks

Yup..got them too! I have to use my compressor to blow the water out at times. I'm not concerned about it though.

I have washed mine a total of about 8 times and it bugs me every time although I don't think any problems will arise. The whole car seems to "hide" water and as soon as you think you have got it all, it starts dripping again. I have returned to using compressed air also!

Yeah I hate that. Gotta dry the whole car, and then open all the doors and the hatch, and dry it again. The amount of water that hides in the hatch and in the mirrors is amazing.

No kidding. These mirrors never stop dripping...especially my driver's side mirror. I end up wrapping a towel around it while I'm drying the car.

does anyone think if we made a stink about the condensation in the rear light lenses that soa will warrenty it or try to fix any of it? i've since tinted my tails red so i dont notice the condensation after the washes.

regarding the water hiding, it really makes a nice wash a crap job cuz of all the hidden water... gonna add compressed air canister to my arsenal of cleaning products for the next wash...

SERVICE BULLETIN
NUMBER: 07-59-07 DATE: 12/17/07
APPLICABILITY: All Current Models
SUBJECT: Dew Formation Inside Exterior Lamps
introduction
This bulletin is for information purposes only. Due to the recent design change of the headlamps and rear combination lamps, dew formation may be visible on the inside of the lamps. The dew formation is temporary and will disappear when the temperature rises or when the lights are turned on for a while. Replacement of the headlamps and/or rear combination lamps for dew formation is not a matter for warranty.
Dew Formation
This is most noticeable in the late fall and early spring. This condition occurs when there is a difference in the temperature between the evening and morning or when washing a vehicle with cold water on a warm day when the lamps are warm. This is the same symptom as dew formation on the surface of window glass.
Examples
1) If a lamp is unevenly warmed by sunshine, the temperature of the area where the sun shines is about 50° F higher than the other area. When air circulates inside the lamp, the warm air reacts to the cold surface, and dew appears.

2) If a lamp is cooled down rapidly (as when you apply water to the lens during washing), a severe temperature difference will occur, and dew formation will result.
Water cools down the lens.Dew formation.Inside of lamp is heated by sunshine.

That bulletin is about dew formation inside the lamp. What is being discussed and pictured in this thread is water that is outside the lamp but visible and inaccessible. It's just behind a lip of clear plastic.

Actually I am looking at the PDF and it shows a drawing example and it matches perfectly to what you guys are having. I have an STI on order and after looking at the pdf..I am not worried at all...it's normal for the design.
