08 Suabru Rally Car

Does anyone know when Subaru will actually be using the new body style for the WRC? I cant wait to see the new EVO and STI on the dirt.

IIRC they have not released when they are planning on doing so.

IIRC? Are people thinking it may take a while to make the switch. Lots invested in the older body style at this point.

The WRC2008 was supposed to make its debut at the rally after Jordan. That has now been pushed back to "at some time this season". If we see the WRC2008 before the GB rally(last rally of the year), I would be surprised at this point.

Mitsubishi dropped from WRC in 2006, however, they still continue to compete in P-WRC, and also plan to debut the Group N EVO X rally car in P-WRC soon....

Rumor has it that the '08 Hatch WRC will makes its debut @ Finland. This from a WRC video of one of the Subbie techs after the last rally. That race I believe is in August, 3-4 events away.

Why so long I don't know. If subaru designed our car AFTER the WRC car wouldn't they have almost a whole year of testing done now???

If rumors are true, the WRC car is retaining strut suspension all the way around. You can be sure a large part of the wait is designing and testing of the rear subframe and suspension. The last thing Prodrive wants to do right now is to put a car out there that is less reliable than the current car.

Which car will Pastrana/Block use in the X-games this summer? That would really hit a huge audience with a new car!
