Mazda is a very cheaply made car, believe me I know from working on my girls car constantly (New wastegate, new FP, injectors changed, and then the acutator arm in the turbo was eaten away hence rebuild the turbo)and she even has the mazdaspeed protege that was supposed to be one of there best cars. I am ready to burn the mother down! The interior and paint.....hungh now thats another topic.

black on black is the new flavor of the month, just like black w/ polished lip used to be, when you drive around walmart parking lot and every ricer civic/integra/escalade has black rims you know they are played out, if you disagree you are blind

first it was chrome back in the day, then polished lip, then black, time attacks are next you can already see it coming

no where did i say it looks bad i just said it is waaaaay to played out and way to many people rockin it

Agree 100%. I love black on black. The other day I saw a beat down looking 90's civic with black time attacks. Sometimes the look just gets played out.....

So one piece of anecdotal evidence means the Mazda is crap? The warranty companies actually say that Mazda makes the most reliable cars, statistically they are the least likely to require warranty work. And Subaru is not number 2 on the list . Glass houses and all that ...

That's a tight looking car! My son has one, nothing crappy about it, very solid.

Obviously not many of you own or have driven a Speed 3...Stock for stock it will give an STI a run for its money...(I own both BTW).

People get this "STI is the BEST and Mazda is well...Mazda" attitude.

I know both are completely different but come on now....

These little direct injection pocket rockets will give you a run for your money on a rolling start. They come stock with a K04 turbo. Once someone really figures out how to tune these like the VAG cars they could be pretty potent. I raced one from a roll in my GLI when I was stage two and he was stock. I barely beat him.

They already have a HPFP available for them that will easily feed a Big turbo 140bar of fuel pressure. Again once someone really figure how to tune these well. they will be beasts. Unfortunately FWD though. And I hate the cheap shiny black plastic on the dash.

If you had to design a performance car from scratch, would FWD be your first choice?
