Griots sold a real CF license plate frame a few years ago. I bought one, but it didn't last more through one winter. It was a piece of wet-laid CF with a VERY thick resin coat mounted to the front of a plastic frame. After one winter it had yellowed and the CF peeled away from the plastic. It doesn't look like Griots sells them any longer, which might be why.

I have a couple of real dry CF frames for motorcycle plates that are awesome and weigh next to nothing, but haven't seen anything like that for cars.

Mine shares the garage with my wife's 2002 Acura RSX S-type. The other stable mates are a 1981 Alfa Romeo Spider. The beaters are a 1994 Toyota truck and a 1983 Mercedes diesel which will, with any luck, be hammered to hell at the 24 Hrs. of Lemons (the prep continues...)
