Why doesnt 08 STI have IC sprayer?

I asked the sales guy why the 08 STI doesnt have the IC sprayer and he said its because the combination of the new hood design and the tilt angle of the IC dissipates the heat so much better so IC sprayer is no longer needed... is this true?...

Could be... also there is no neat trunk any more to shove that water tank and pump...

There was something I read about intercooler design once that said to achieve an 8% increase in intercooler efficiency you could do a couple of things. Add water spray or make your intercooler 25% bigger in volume while trying to minimize pressure drop. With a bigger IC shoehorned in there, Subaru probably deemed the water spray unnecessary. I rarely used mine; only in stop and go traffic on hot days.

cuz the 08 intercooler is larger/wider so Subaru might think that they can get away with headsoak with limited room for tank placement

damn, i really like that feature on my 05. helps at the drag strip and in traffic during humid summer days.
