Guys I'm wondering, has any of you tried the Defi-Link VSD X?

I read on the main website that it only fits 12V electrical systems, seeing that I'm not a very technical person when coming to cars-- can it be fitted on the 08 STI?

I'm thinking it's going to be a really great investment for me, a single display showing all engine readings on a single display that's very easy to read.
Have a look and lemme know what you guys think!

Defi - Defi-Link VSD X

These are my guages, I could only afford a boost guage and an oil temp guage. Both are defis.

Love 'em.. they blend nicely with the guage cluster.

P.S. sorry for the low quality photos, working with what I got lol

Not to get TOO off topic, but where did you place the sensor for the oil temp gauge? Did you actually tap the block, or use the oil filter sandwich dealies?

Yeah, resized them.
Anyways, the way they sit is not too fancy. Just used the double sided tape that I got with the Gauges.
They sit behind the left vent that's beside the windshield-- not very practical spot to work with when you
want to clean the windshield, but I thought that's the best spot for those gauges. I moved them
a little bit, the picture doesnt show the original positioning as I had to remove them temporarily to put tints on the windshield.
Just to give you an idea of how unpractical it is, e.g. when I want to clean the windshield I have to remove the gauges from the sockets and tilt the stands to the front so I can gain access to that corner of the windshield-- so that leaves the gauges dangling for a while.

Here are the pics.

You can see the wires passing through the side of the dash.

Regarding the sensor, I'm not really sure how the dude that fit the sensors for me did them. He's a good friend of mine so I trust his work. He did explain how he fitted them-- but I was too in love with the defis that I was staring at them while he was explaining. I do remember that he said he used some sort of adapter which I had to pay 30$ for.
It's common knowledge as how the defis link to the sensor. sensor -> Defi-Link controller -> gauges. That's the way I understand it.
I hope this helps.

p.s.: that's my 206rc sitting in the back of the second picture behind the pillar, that's the first addition to the 4 banger club we're running here at home. I love it!

$245 for each gauge and $163 for the defi-link controller. Install took 2 hours if not less.

Not 100% sure yet, need see how much free play in the supplied cables. Thinking maybe similar to MideastEnthusiast's, then hopefully later can get a dual pod for 'em. (if anyone ever makes 08 pods)
