Default Looking Fwd to buying a new Exhaust

Hey guys... I'm running a stock STI and I believe the car sounds a bit understated. It looks like we have now have a completed Harman system, and a Magnaflow ready for purchase. Cobb and Perrin are still working on theirs I believe.

Which of the prototypes do you like the most? The Cobb sounds very raspy, while the Perrin sounds deep and smooth. I would like to hear the Harman out on the street instead of the dyno. Will Borla be releasing one also?

My ideal exhaust would be one that adds a deeper/throatier sound, but nothing obnoxious. I dont want to seem like a boy racer with a massive fart cannon. I want the car to sound sophisticated, yet powerful.

I have the XR1 for an 07 and it is a PERFECT fit for me. More agressive, deeper, and not overly loud. Great system! From what it sounds like you are looking in sound, it might be a good fit. Email Borla, see if they plan on releasing it, I'm sure they are.

I have the Harman TBE and was looking for pretty much the same thing you are. It's great, I really like it.

To get the deeper throater sound run a header too. I know ETS and AMS are making exhausts for the 08 STI and AMR has one too. It would be nice to be able to hear tham all in person, but that would be tough to do. I have decded so far to go with all lof maddad's products including the EL headers and am waiting for their shorty dp to arrive. I think with the turbo back wisper system it will sound perfect at idle and minimal if not no highway drone.

Borla has a cat-back for the '08, it's almost $1k.

On the borla site, it says for WRX only. Plus the single exit sucks IMO. I will either go with a two exit or the quad.

I believe Borla is in the process of releasing one for the STI.
Check out the one from HiTech Mufflers, that one sounds awesome.

I remember seeing a prototype system that split at the end of the downpipe and went back as dual. Who's was that?

Yes shift, and I found another clip on youtube with a MY07 and it has the same type of sound. I can tell that thatīs the sound I want.

What a great ad for Harman Motive. Borla makes the HM CBE look like a steal.
