Default Brake problems?

I was wanting to if anybody else is hearing a grinding sound from the right front? I only hear it just before I stop, and my car only has 600 miles on it.

Same here, 555 miles on mine as of this afternoon. Noticed it from day one with the car, and you really only hear it when you're going from 5 mph -> 0.

A little weird. Hoping it's nothing, but that's what your 12k/1st year is for.
Car rocks otherwise.

Is this your first car with Brembos? If so, you may just be hearing normal sounds. Brembos make grinding sounds at low speeds normally. If you're worried, yank the pads out and inspect them and the rotors, anything bad happening will be fairly obvious. One upside to the Brembos is that taking the pads out is incredibly trivial . Then just learn to enjoy the sounds, because that's part of the STI Experience(tm) .

Yeah from 5 to 0, I checked my rotors when I got home didn't really see anything wrong with the rotors. Also I'm a subaru noob.

grinding noise could be normal, but you better have your brake pads checked.

08 STi brake noise

Take a look at this thread, many people experienced the same brake problem.

It is most likely due to the bad brake pads. You should have your brake checked at

your local Subaru dealer and see if your brake pads are cracked.

Yep checkout the orginal post about this problem. My brake pads were cracked and caused hotspots on the rotors.

My pads and rotors were replaced under warranty. Night and day difference... no more the abnormal loud grinding noise. My brakes have the initial bite like brembo's are supposed to have!

If you hear a faint metal grinding noise that is normal. But If it's loud like freeman's and my experience something is not right.

my car started this at 100 miles, day i got it, but after a few days it got quieter and is almost not noticeable now. im taking it in saturday to get a auto dim/homelink mirror, and theyre gonna check it out while its in there. i thought i read somewhere that people were finding their pads were cracked. it wont hurt to look at them or get it looked at

I've been noticing this too, I am thinking of having my local dealer do the same, just to check.
