I haven't noticed anything, I reflashed at around 100 miles and I am at low 400 now.

I'm guessing you probably aren't stomping the hell out of the throttle yet...I could be wrong.

I really think a blown ring land would cause the white smoke to continue after start up and produce a myriad of other noticeable performance issues. I could be wrong, but I really want to know if anyone else experiences the white smoke at startup and/or the black smoke under hard acceleration with the Cobb stage 1 reflash.
Hm, you could always have someone else start the car in the morning and stick your hand down at the tailpipe and feel if you get lots of condensation on your hand from the start up exhaust.

Do you have a datalogger of some type? or does the Accessport function as a datalogger (I haven't played with one)? What would be nice would be a Wideband O2 to figure out what's happening but it sounds like you are not burning up the carbon by the time it reaches the exhaust under full throttle.

Tales like this worries me about installing the AP... Is it really safe to use?

It's about as safe as you can get for an ecu reflasher. It's not like this is a widespread problem.

solovus I wouldn't worry about it. Some exhaust when cold is ok. If it continued to pour out white when u were idling after the motors warmed up or when ur running then I would worry about it. I've been running the cobb stage1, pretty hard, for about 3 weeks now. Flashed at 500 miles, have about 800 now (It usually stays in the garage most of the week) I got the car up to 150mph indicated on the way down from UMD college park meet on Sunday, it pulled nicely.

BTW: does anyone know: After your "reset" the ECU on the AP to clear a code, do you have to re-flash the entire ecu or does it still remember???

Your flashed ecu Map will still be on there. It clears the codes out though, and possibly the "learning curve" it has built up on timing adv and such.

The only thing I noticed from my stage 1 map is that my car rips the shizznit out of anything on the road. A heavily modded C5 Vetter (looked like 04') couldn't pull on me at all. I love you Cobb. I wub you. I wub you.

Um. That C5 probably was laughing at you thinking you were a ricer. There is no way I believe a C5 couldn't pull on you being at stage 1.

a modded C5 would have like 400-ish whp and weighs less then our cars. Unless you're racing him 0-40mph i also fail to see that.

Never laughed. Wouldn't look at me. We did a lot of pulls on each other. I matched him each time. Call it BS but he appeared to be trying and often. Maybe it wasn't as modded as I thought but it sure sounded it.
