Default Extended Warranty prices

For anyone that has gotten one what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking.

Im thinking of the 6/100,000 gold subaru one. with $0 deductable.

I dont plan on modding that much at all. Probley just the AP.

I would suggest calling around to different dealerships before buying the package if you don't buy it when you buy the car. I know these are highly negotiable and provide a lot of profit to dealerships.

I wouldn't get one until the end of your initial 3yr/36000 mile bumper to bumper. The problem with extended warranty contracts is that they depreciate in value from inception and even when you bring the in car under the original bumper to bumper. If you sell the car in the first 3 years you won't get as much money back when the warranty is terminated even if you never used it. I still get offers in the mail for cars that I sold already.

For reference here is what a local sales guy is pricing them at:
Subenet: Service Contracts
Pretty good prices from what I have seen.

Don't forget the $495 surcharge for the STi.
Really sucks for any plan over 60k.

As mentioned there is absolutely no reason to buy this until your factory warranty is almost up.

you can only purchase the Subaru branded 100K "gold" warranty at the time of purchase. I picked it up for $1600, which seems like a steal to extend 3/36K to 6/100K. Granted there are exclusions in coverage, but why not pay a few bucks more to have that insurance.
