Default Deck wiring

So I started to hook up my old Kenwood deck to replace the factory unit... and it is confusing the hell out of me. prepared to get confused yourselves. I followed a post from the other forums for this info:

LR + / - red/black - white/red
RR + / - red/white - gray/green
I picked up this harness that is the same connector as the 07+ nissan and said to work with the 08 imprezas. Here are some problems:

1. NO ground and illumination wires - need to add them or direct connection.
2. The ignition and accessory wires seem to be reversed. On the car side, the blue/red is the ignition, and yellow/red is the accessory. But the colors do not correspond on the harness. The red goes to the yellow/red(ACC) and yellow goes to the blue/red(IGN).
Not much of an issue if you just swap it, but you will want to double check when doing this.

Take a look at the pic. The speaker wires are no problem. IGN and ACC we just covered. Ground and ILLUM, you need to add them. The last remaining cord on the Kenwood side, is the solid blue, which is the motor antenna control wire. On the harness side, there is a blue/wht cord that leads to (Power antenna turn on: yellow/black) on the car side.

Do I connect this motor antenna control wire to the Power antenna turn on?
If anyone else has a better way to wire this, please let me know.
Thanks

ok, I just went ahead and connected everything.

1. The radio and acc wires were ok. my bad
2. You can tap into the ground through that single (blu/blk?) that was connected to the OEM deck chassis
3. I tapped into the purple wire on OEM harness for ILLUM.
4. Connected the antenna wires as is, and I get strong radio reception. Guess it is ok.
5. Use a correct size phillips driver to take off the mounting harware off the OEM deck. Careful not to strip the head: they are on tight.
6. Maybe I'm wrong again here, but the speaker polarity seem to be switched on the aftermarket harness. Can someone verify this?

Either way, everything is working fine now. Still have to get me a single din(maybe the Legacy one?) and get the correct faceplate. But at least I have better sound quality now.

btw, I found a neat site with lots of pics on this topic.

I used a #2 and was ok. Just make sure to apply pressure to it as you turn.

Went back to my car and found my settings for th EQ got reset. I'll check again in the morning to see if it did it again. I may have to switch the red and the yellow wire if it happens again... constant and switched maybe reversed.

Checked the deck this morning and the settings were all retained. Don't know why it defaulted yesterday.

Even the ground wire? I checked all over but none had those two pinned.

Anyone out there used the legacy din for the empty slot yet?

The Metra harness I bought to install my Kenwood DNX-8120 this weekend has the illumination (orange) but no ground, so I am guessing I need to tap into this on the factory side....
