Question how to remove rear window warning sticker???

Not like I haven't searched for this..... The 08 STI comes with a serious-ass warning sticker on the driver-side rear door window exclaiming how the bumpers have been tested to withstand 5mph impacts.

It is a real pain in the ass to get these off the window -- and I haven't found a good technique or tool yet (I don't exactly want to scratch my window).

Anyone want to share the easiest way to accomplish this?

Brand new razor blade and then clean off the leftover residue with a little wd-40. Only use microfiber towels or cloth diapers and you won't have to worry about scratches no matter how much elbow grease you put in it.

I don't recall seeing this sticker on my car. Is this a California thing?

The dealer left some of the paperwork in the glovebox that details what the workers at the port to do install things. It was through this paper that I learned they added the HUGE warning sticker informing me how much of an impact my bumpers could absorb for California.

Following some of the suggestions here, I got myself a razor blade and carefully, nervously, worked it on the glass and scraped the offending sticker off. I also did the same for the Symetrical AWD logo on the back.

I figured if the razor blade didn't get the sticker I could just slit my wrists in frustration from trying to use my nails previously on it...

A little GooGone and my sticker worries are over....

Umm... you may want that AWD sticker on the back to remind any potential towing companies that your car has AWD and needs to be flatbedded or dollied. I didn't see too many subies when I spent a couple weeks in Sunnyvale, I can't imagine local towing companies are very familiar with towing them. Food for thought. or just don't park illegally.

I think that's on there for Subie advertising not to warn tow truck drivers. I doubt they would read that little sticker....

But I never park somewhere where I could be towed anyhow.

It is on there for advertising, but every little bit helps remind towing companies. If it is on there and they tow your car, they are liable for the damage the cause if they don't flatbed it. Without the sticker, they have grounds to play the "I didn't know it was AWD" card. Just a word of warning.

That's total bull****. They are liable regardless of anything you've done to your car. "Your honor, the plaintiff had removed the 'Symmetrical AWD sticker' from the back of his car. Clearly our towing company is not at fault". Yeah, I suppose someone might try that, but it would never hold up if things came down to blows. I could understand towing a 3000GT and not realizing it's a VR4, but any tow company that doesn't use a wrecker for a Subaru won't be around very long.

How is my advice bull****? I have heard of towing companies here in Washington trying to play dumb or doing the, "it's alright, I pulled the AWD fuse". Of course it doesn't stand up but they will try to weasel out if they can. And my advice was to the guy in Sunnyvale, CA. Not a place commonly associated with Subarus. I'm not trying to blow smoke up anybody's ass.
