Default Driver's Side Rattle

I have a faint rattle coming from the driver's side of my car. It doesn't seem to do it if its been sitting outside all day, only when its under cover all night and its cooled down. Are there any pieces in the doors that are particularly prone to loosening?

2002 model year Imprezas were known to have their window actuators work their way loose after a while and tear up the sheet metal if left unchecked. I've personally had to work on 2 Imprezas that did this.

By actuator do you mean the motor that is responsible for moving the glass or the switch that turns said motor on and off.

Every Subaru I've owned has had some mystery interior rattle. I was hoping with the bodystyle change that they would go away. Wishfull thinking I guess.

Ive got a rattle that seems to come from inside my steering column. Only happens on rough pavement, very annoying.

At least the vin number trim piece won't rattle on these cars.

I'm sure each of these can be traced down, the trouble is diagnosing them when they are intermittent (or only on rough pavement).

I am now very confident that the loose part is somewhere in my steering column and it only sounded like it was coming from the door. It sounds like a piece of plastic, something I probably broke loose banging my knees (I'm tall) into the column sliding into and out of the car.

I would be willing to bet we have the same issue.

Try holding on to the steering columns plastic cover. That sounds like a rattle I had.
