Cobb AP stage 1 max boost in I mode acn 91 map?

is there anyone one the forum with a boost gauge with cobb stage 1 acn 91 map installed?

im asking because when i installed my cobb ap stage 1 acn 91 yesterday, i was getting 5psi max (locked out) in I mode @ wot.

this morning on my commute to work, i noticed that the boost in first and second gear was no longer locked out...

the max psi reached this morning in I mode was 10psi!! is this consistent with wut everyone else is getting?

There is a boost display on the AP itself, I will check today if I remember.

Why are you wasting your time in I mode anyway ?

Trying to keep the beast on a leash....?

im trying to get the most fuel economy out of my $4.20/gl of 91 octane cali gas. besides, theres no where to go fast during my commute to work... la freeways are congested.... s and s# would be sucha waste...

well... i called cobb a little while ago and they say that the car is learning my new maps and i will see boost in the range of 4psi to 10psi in I mode. cobb tech says that the car will be in this learning stage for around 250-300 miles is what i remember him saying.

anyone else have experienced this or am i having some strange issues right now?

I've found that my car seems to be running stronger and stronger as the miles roll on. I'm at around 4,300 and the thing just pulls like mad. I guess Stage 2 doesn't hurt but I'm thinking you'll experience the same incremental increase in performance as the miles roll on.

yeah, I reflashed about 500 miles ago and accelerates harder... at first I thought I learned to shift better (my 1st time on a 6 speed) after reading this I think it's more the enigne

After the AP "learns" and in S# mode, you will see about 10-11PSI at WOT in gears 1,2,3. To see max boost you will need to be in 4th and 5th gear rolling about 2800RPM punch it to around 4000-4500RPM and you should see 16.5-17 PSI. That is off the AP's Live Date for boost. I also have a boost gauge and that is what it shows as well. I also have an AP V2 Stage 1ACN 91 map. Never tried it in I mode or S mode, I'm sure it is the same. I also verified this with Cobb as well.

What doesn't make sense? I called Cobb, spoke to their tech support. These are exactly the numbers they said I should see. No more than 11PSI in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. They told me to see max boost you need to be in 4th or 5th gear between 2800-4200 RPM and I should see 16.5 to 17.5 PSI. They are spot on what I saw on the AP as well as my boost gauge. I did 10 pulls in a row and the numbers were the same with every pull. No offense, but these are the folks that wrote this program and set these parameters. Maybe your 93 map is different than the 91 ACN. You can read through the Cobb forums and see it mention all over about the numbers I stated. Stage 2 might get some boost creep, but target boost on stage 1 is 17.0 +- .5.

Yeah I was hitting 16 psi in gears 2 and 3 with stage 1 tuned for acn 91

the max I got was 8.1 PSI, it usually peaked out between 7.5 - 8 at gears 2 and 3...
I didn't try the higher gears cuz that would mean hitting 80 mph while holding AP in your hand - this was in rush hour

Here is the answer I just got from Cobb

My question to Cobb

"Quick question, Should I see max peak boost (16.5 - 17.0 PSI) in every gear? What I have now is around 11-12 PSI in 1st and 2nd gears, 3rd, 4th 5th gears I see max boost of between 16-17ish PSI. The reason I ask is someone stated that they see max peak boost in every gear."

Here is the response from Cobb

"Nope, boost is mostly load dependent. 1st and 2nd gear aren't really load range gears. You get into boost at the top of third and def in 4th. That is when LOAD kicks in...If you ever see 16.5 in first, you will see about 21psi in third. In which case you would turn your turbo into a hair dryer.

Did the person you talk to have a MBC or EBC and perhaps EM that has boost control for each gear? It can be done but not by use of the Cobb OTS"
