MSRP=manufacturers suggested retail price= what Subaru wants consumers to pay

Invoice=price dealer pays + XXX amount of "holdback"

So invoice isn't exactly what a dealer pays, one can pay invoice pricing and the dealer still makes a bit of profit. I'm going to find a better explanation on google.

here's a start:

new car prices, dealer scams, negotiating, dealer invoice price, Car buying tips

ah ok, so here in australia the invoice price, would be the driveaway price, dealers here dont have a document that claims invoice price from factory, like anyone would believe that anyway!

the Invoice price on my car was $69480, but i got it for $63k flat

Does pricing depend on region in Australia? The only showroom I've seen there was Docklands in Melb.

Hi! First post! Just got my 08 SSM STI (No NAV/No BBS) for $350 below invoice. It seemed like a good deal!

Guys,

Quick update. I got a blind inquiry from a dealer in NJ seeing if I still had interest in looking at a car. I replied back if he/she can do 1000 under invoice then we can talk.

Reply "Can do, let's go"

I will update when I know more (probably in the next couple of days)

Find one that doesn't sell many cars.

If they are just shooting emails out in the dark fishing for interest, I doubt many people perused the lot that day. Their desperation sounds like a great deal for you, though.

When I originally started looking (two months ago) I inquired through Subaru's site to get things started. I emailed several local dealers, this one was just following up on a cold lead.

Just go to the Subaru website and then to their dealer finder thingy. They all have websites with their emails on them.

Man Juggernaut, it took superhuman power not to capitlize on that one Take care
