My stage 1 08' rapes my stock 06'. No comparison. Will never look back.

It was tired and stupid thread to begin with. I hope it gets locked.

Well, driving a stock STI (any year) coming from a stage 2 STI, of course it's going to feel slow and unresponsive.

Some of you guys just don't get it. Emissions are reason why this car gets a crappy factory tune and defaults to wuss mode, so Subaru can have a 300+hp car that they can "claim" meets LEV classification. Ever increasing emissions regulation and MPG targets are making manufacturers really jump through hoops to avoid a government mandated hand slap. It's also why Subaru is making such a big deal about their PZEV cars.

Hell, when the 04 WRX came out, Subaru had to give it a crappy tune to make up for the fact that the STI took the WRXs place in their emissions heirarchy. Car manufacturers are only allowed a certain percentage of their lineup to be in a given emissions "tier". Or in other words, they can have a dirtier burning car, as long as the rest of their lineup has better emissions. With the addition of the STI, Subaru had to make the WRX a cleaner burning car so it received a crappy tune.

You're 100% correct. Ducati has been pulling the "crappy factory tune" act for years now. The bikes would not even be imported with the "correct" tune.

At least the crappy tune thing is easy enough to deal with.

IMO, this car should not be sold without the COBB AP v2. It totally transforms the car. The difference is startling.

Not sure if this has been discussed but the difference between all 3 drive modes is the reaction time of the throttle, meaning in "I" mode throttle reacts very slowly and in "S#" throttle reacts fastest. So if these cars are being test driven in "I" or even "S" modes drivers will not get the cars fullest potential.
