FYI, it IS possible to tell if an ecu has been reflashed. It just depends on if your tech is savvy enough to notice the change or if he runs a checksum on the ROM.

But what it boils down to is what many others have said. If you are at all worried about your warranty, on any of the car's systems, don't mod it. Techs can tell if you've been wrenching on it.

I live in NJ. Thanks for the help. I guess I will call up the dealership. How much does the AP affect the car? Is there a large difference in performance (not that it needs it). I mainly want it for efficiency. Thanks.

Since you're in NJ you should be able to get 93 octane readily.

Thanks. I just emailed the dealership and will probably get a response back tomorrow. I know the AP helps performance, but I was wondering how much it helps fuel economy? I would love to bump it up around 25. Thanks, and I'll post what the dealership says.

It will bump your mpg by maybe .5 or 1. You will never see 25 in this car, sorry.

They actually sell Cobb AP through the dealer. Maybe it's just yours that don't sell them.

That really depends on where you drive. I routinely hit 24-25 in the summer, and that's with 75% freeway, 25% back roads (read: aggressive ). On a long trip with the entire tank in freeway mode I've seen upper 20's (again, only in the summer, my mileage drops to 20 in the winter ).
