Default Intake Silencer removal for 2008

The 2 Intake Silencer removals I found in the search for 2008 STI, the guy's already had the front bumpers removed for other up grades as well.

Has anyone removed the intake silencer without taking off the front bumper???

If so ...how did you do it??

Thanks

On 04-07's, you could remove it by peeling back the fender liner and getting access to the bolts by feel. I assume it's the same for the '08's, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

It lets you hear the turbo spool up more than you can with it in place. No performance gains or anything, just sound.

The intake layout for an 08 looks almost exactly the same as an 06. Problem is the 08 hasn't been out long enough for people to make a lot of how to's specifically for them. I say you should be able to figure out the differences (if there are any) and use the 06 how to. It's really a simple job, not like you are rebuilding the whole engine or something.

Removing the front lip only takes about 10 minutes.

Question.. wouldn't it just be easier to plug the hole in the air box which leads to the silencer rather than remove it?

Where would the air come in then?
