I removed mine, but the change in sound was very small. Maybe you can hear the turbo a little bit more at HWY speed, but it is not very noticeable at low speed.

If you don't block the hole, you might get colder air, or you might get hotter air, I don't know... but you definitely will need to change the filter sooner, haha

Those of you who have removed your intake silencer and havent really heard a difference, i read it takes about a week before you actually start noticing the turbo spooling sound a lot more...

i think that other guy was making up excuses to justify taking it out
the ecu doesn't need to re-learn anything. it's just a resonator.

It could be psychological, but I found the sound difference to be quite noticeable even at low speeds. Before, I could only hear the turbo spooling under certain conditions, but after, I can hear it pretty much any time I touch the throttle (it seems)

the only thing that was obvious for me was more drone
and a "little" bit extra intake/turbo/bpv sounds, but not really worth the effort.

Methinks the some other guy who wrote that deserves a
Its just a resonator, and as soon as i removed mine i noticed the difference. To me its very noticable when going thru ~3k to ~4.5k with a good amount of throttle (not WOT, but close). best results when in 3rd, ~40mph, then punch it, you can really get a loud growl/drone. light throttle doesnt display any notable difference.
Its loud enough that i'm probably going to put the thing back, but it can wait for the next needed bumper removal.

One thing i noticed when i had the bumper off, next to the foglights is a pre-made duct hole, would be ideal for brake cooling, or running a hose from there to the airbox for extra cool air. As stock its blanked by the plastic behind the fog light mesh, but a bit of cutting would open it up and allow air straight to that duct hole. Might be something i try next time i have some free time to mess around, might even cut the drone back down?

I second completely above. I can't understand how come some people can't notice difference? There is a significant change, but it comes when you open the throttle around 3K. I would say that is not about turbo spooling but more a nice growl such as a nice 4000cc non-turbo performant engine.
