Question '08 STi suspension upgrade options

I'm looking for non-coilover suspension solutions. I would prefer a spring + sway bar option but haven't found anything yet. So far I'm only partially impressed with the stock suspension and thus am looking for less body roll and more predictability at moderate speeds.

And yes I searched first but I'm pretty sure the 2008 suspension setup is all new? If I'm wrong please tell me

Lowering would be nice but I think I'll first spend money on some anti-roll action. Lookin' for some options myself...

I think H&R makes springs only. Of course you could verify if Eibach makes them yet.

AFAIK there are no front swaybars out by anyone yet. Rears I'm not sure, but then again I haven't looked.

cool I'll look into H&R. I ran H&R springs and Bilsteins on my old car and that was good setup for me. I'll do some more research today and see if I can stir anything up

Ok it looks like H&R has sport springs available though I haven't found a retailer selling them yet. Haven't found any shocks or cup kits yet either. I figure sways will make a noticable difference.

Another question: on past cars strut bars have typically been overkill however they seem to be fairly prevalent in Subaru modding. So my question is do people usually choose strut over sway or do a front strut rear sway, etc (or some other combination)?

FYI aparently Bilstein is offering pss9's already for the low low price of ~$2500

They have them on their site but they are out of stock. I don't believe they exist yet, at least I've never seen anyone actuially selling them, or any 08 owners having them yet. Same with the Perrin bar.

Got my front and rear swaybars through Harman Motive, they have a nice website, you should check it out

I just picked up a front upper strut bar by cusco; i paid 159 or so. they have them available at a couple different places, including harman. this won't make a huge difference in handling, but it's something i'm able to do right now right away so i'm just getting it done as the first basic suspension mod.

Since the 08 STi is so new stuff is still being developed.

Harman has made a rear sway bar which I believe is out, and both Cobb and Perrin are working on front bars but they still seem to be a few weeks out. I'm sure a number of shops are also in the middle of developing springs.

You'll probably have to wait until summer for the availability of more parts. A lot of companies are just coming out with 08 WRX springs now, and the WRX came out months before the STi.

Most people do both sways bars and strut bars. The knock off STi strut bars were insanely cheap so a lot of people got them and threw them on since they were like $40 for the pair. They mount in different spots so if you have the $ no reason not to do both. But for performance driving the sway bars help out a lot more. The only difference I've noticed with my strut bars are my car creeks a bit less when on bumpy roads.

Looks like Eibach makes springs and sway bars F and R.

I'm also interested in some sways and a drop, just not sure if I want springs or full coilovers yet. I'm at a point where I don't mind waiting and seeing what becomes available though. Best not to rush into something you don't want!
