Default The Dunlops on snow?

Has anyone tried out the Dunlops on snow yet? I live in the mountains and it snows every once and a while in the summer so i need to know if i should get all-seasons. I have a set of winter rims. Thanks for any input.

Yes, I had the unfortunate experience of driving from Breckenridge to Denver the day after a fresh six inches. I ran into one snowbank to avoid dying, almost slid into someone going through a roundabout, and then had to drive 35 mph on the highway while trying not to **** my pants. Don't try it.

You'll crash. But I wouldn't recommend all-seasons, either, cause nothing sucks the fun out of your car like all-seasons. 2 sets of wheels or 2 cars or stay home when it snows but no performance summer tires in the snow unless you crave guardrails. (I live up high, too. Still have 4 feet of snow in some corners of my yard.)

Damn, not quite what i wanted to hear haha. I'm riding on my winter rims right now so no worries yet but i know i'm wearing them down a lot in the dry pavement. I don't have the luxury of having 2 vehicles but i do have the 2 sets of wheels however i've been told that it will even snow in June where i'm living right now so all-seasons are the most logical choice for me.

Any recommendations for all-seasons? i'm looking at Z rated all seasons but i'm thinking H or V rated will be adequate.

Take a couple hundred bucks and get a cordless impact wrench, and then you can swap to the snows quickly when you need them or the forecast changes. That's what I would do!

ive spent now, about 2 months in snow and ice. Nokian RSi's are excellent. ive had snow coming over the hood, with a nice base of ice, and i did not get stuck once. ive passed many trucks going up hills, who were getting stuck.

i would never chance it with the stocker SP600's on ice/snow. no sipes or deep grooves.

i would not recommend all-seasons. they are basically a hard rubber summer tyre. they only could call it all-season becouse they used it in areas with maybe 1 day of snow in a year. do your research, and you will see that its been proven over and over, that allseasons are useless in the winter when compared to a true winter based tyre.

same as the re070's im guessing.

they are a summer tire.

sandals are for the summer, boots for the winter

Tires: 245/40 R18 93W ultra high-performance1

1 Ultra high-performance summer-rated tires are best suited for driving under dry conditions and are not recommended for driving on slippery, snow-covered or icy roads.

Quoted from Subaru.com, link: SUBARU.COM : MODEL CONSIDERATION : FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS : * : 2008 Impreza WRX STI

So, I honestly wouldn't think it wise to drive in the snow with them.

Get some Blizzaks and have fun! I dare you to get stuck. These cars are amazing with winter tread.
