Default SI Drive knob fell off

So i am driving home and when i turned the SI Drive knob and it fell off (08 sti). When i put the knob back on it still falls off and the I mode does not engage.

What a disappointing lack of quality. I cant believe that I have to take time out to go to the dealer because of something so simple.

That knob will get turned a lot when I get my car. I know my wife will always have it in 'I' and I'll always have it in S#. "Going fast" is a flaw in a car in her book.

lol.. truth. i guess i have better things to fuss about than little things.just take it to the dealership and have them fix it. my tire pressure gauge came on the day i picked it up. called the dealership, they said bring it in the first chance i get unless i'm not comfortable driving it. two days later i took it up...15 minutes they said they just had to reset it, no big deal.

it defaults back to S mode, that sux man !

What kind of an idiot decides the flagship performance car should always default to detuned mode?
