Default Cobb AccessPORT Question (Shutdown Process)

Hello All:

I have tried to find this answer everywhere, but I can not. I was wondering if anyone may know the quick answer to this question.

Does anyone know whether the COBB AP will automatically shutdown after a certain time period, once the engine is off? I just got the AP today, and I turned off my car, and came back to my car with the AP still running (with the AccessPORT saying "No connection" and it didn't automatically shut itself down.

I noticed the only way to get it to "SHUTDOWN or turn off" (after the engine is shut off), is to unplug the USB cable or the OBD connector. This could be annoying if I have to do this everytime I turn my car off (I don't want to drain the battery, if my car is off for extended periods of time). Is this how they always are, or is there some way or a specific time period I need to let the AP sit before it automatically shuts down?

Thanks guys!

I think the answer is...yes.

I got mine this week also and I don't think it shuts down by itself. Have to unplug it.

since the obd port has constant power it will not shut down unless unplugged.

Since it displays boost, some people use it as opposed to a gauge.

That was/is the basic idea of what I had in mind.

Isn't the access port boost gauge output limited to around 18.5 PSI?

Yeah... I don't really quite understand what the question is... I just installed it last night, and the unit itself does not have batteries to keep it going without the connection. And while it is connecting, I don't believe you cab "turn it off". It just automatically turns on with the power of the car, and that's that.

Also, I'm running the Stage 1 Perrin 93 Octane and it ROCKS. I can't describe to you how much better it feels. Perhaps consider the difference to be, say, driving a WRX and then hopping in a late model Evo or STi. That's the difference I feel, and it feels like it pulls even stronger from what I can tell than those late model cars. The stock tune, I can finally officially say, is utter garbage. ALSO, look, I'm not saying you will get amazing gas mileage now with it, but I'm at 19mpg for the first time EVER, and this comes right after installing it. Make your own conclusions if you want, but damn, seems like to me to have made an immediate difference in mileage.

Yes but that is because the ECU parameter the AP is reading is limited to 18.4psi. It's not an inherent AP limitation.
