not likely with the stock cats in and the way the ECU works really hard to keep the engine from running rich for emissions reasons.

Does it happen right after you let your foot off the gas? You know that is when the BOV will fire off. On a stock car it certanly is not loud but is noticable...espically if you have never driven a turbo car.

Ill vote for the stupid simple explaination...BOV boom...

Agreed...in stock form it is quite unlikely...but certanly not unheard of nor impossible given the right set of circumstances. If you backfire too much you will find bits of catalytic converter shooting out of your exhaust too...

What exactly does a stock BPV sound like? I mean I know an aftermarket BOV will say "pshh," but that's only because it's letting air out of the system. Would you expect a BPV to have a low-frequency rumble?

By the way I'll probably eat my words later but so far all the various sounds my piggy makes are neat. They keep me aware of all the mechanical stuff happening and that adds to the enjoyment factor.

My stock BPV is very loud but I have a short ram intake. It basically sounds like a light swoosh of air.

Just for the record, if Rum is noticing the same phenomenon as me, it's more of a low frequency rumble than a woosh sound.

Yeah what I hear is definitely not a whoosh and definitely not coming from under the hood.
