If you order the AP from HM will it come with a map for the HM TBE?

HM quoted me an extra $150 for the custom tune for their setup. I'm thinking I will just spend the extra and drive down and let Dan tune it on the dyno.

I would think it would come with the TBE if you purchased it, but then again, that may not be the case... Like if you buy the intake from AMR but dont buy the AP+Intake package from AMR, then you have to spend another $200 to get the tune so you can actually use the intake.

EDIT: Ahh, see, that sucks

As much as I would love a mellow burble, I can't bring myself to spending $999 then another $450 for a tune since I would want to go pro-tune and not OTS. Besides, I'm actually starting to like the stocker with the Cobb DP. It's starting to sound mean.

Thats quite a bit of a$$ hattery on Harmans part ... I mean really $200 for a single tune that they sell to quite a bit of people. That alone may force me to go with Cobb. Does anyone know if the Cobb full TBE will have the taper to 2.5?

I remember reading that you went to HM and Dan said the OTS tune was pretty spot-on...what did it dyno with just the DP and OTS tune?

yeah, I'm just not sure what a full TBE will do, especially since the DP is different from HM and Cobb. Back to your question, 256whp/294wtq...

WOW, that's pretty stout in Mustang dyno numbers (and with a cat). Yea, another 1k for the CBE plus another $499 for the tune and maybe 10-15 more whp?? Doesn't really make sense to me either.

Can someone answer this question for me. Its a simple one so I dont want to make a new post about it.

If I order a AccessPort from COBB. Does it include the maps? Or, do I have to purchase the maps separately?

You get all the maps...if fact, you can get all the maps right now on their support pages, just not a lot you can do without an AP. Yeah, I crack myself up.

At any rate, when you get the AP from Cobb, or any other vendor, the Cobb OTS maps are pre-loaded. If you buy from Perrin, you get the Cobb AND the Perrin maps.

*map, singular. You tell em what octane you're running at purchase and they'll email it to you. I received the 93 oct stg1 map.

Once you get it via email, you've got to change the file extension to ".ptm" as it doesn't have any file extension at all and the AccessPORT Manager will not recognize it.

Perrin also has a Stage2 available and this is what Jeff Perrin told me:

"We do have a stage 2 map, but this is mainly for the turboback exhaust, not just the downpipes. But if you buy the Downpipes, I will send it to you, not a problem at all!"

He said their Catback Exhaust should be available in 3 weeks (from when I spoke with him on the 3rd of April). It will be a dual tip 4" style, so you'll lose the quad tips but I love their sound so much from the video they have on YouTube.

yup... it took me almost a week to get this straightened out. luckily i wanted to try the cobb map first, but the fact that i had to email three people at their office really ticked me off... then they didn't tell me that i had to change the extension so i had to call them ask what the deal was.

I was on the phone with em, telling em what the problem was and asking why it didn't come as a *.ptm already, but they didn't seem to understand me.

I'm wondering if their email system automatically removed the file extension so that recipient's anti-virus software might not nick it as a virus or something. Aside from that, I have no clue why its like that.

ahh... that would explain why Ken knew what the problem was right away. he said he didn't know how or why, but to just change the extension. i think i'm gonna load it up tomorrow when i get home from work. i've been liking the Cobb so far, can't wait to get Stage 2!!!
