Auto Cross in NYC help

Hey guys I'm interested in doing autocross for the first time, I been looking around and getting a bit confused on how to become a member and find these events. I found some events being held out here in nassau colliseum but I have to become a member first and theres all different types of memberships. Looking for some more information or if anyone else lives in NYC and is interested in doing some Autocross maybe we can go together. Just looking for alot of info I'm really interested in this. Thanks

I was in the same boat as you about a month ago. I just showed up to one of the events and told them I was a noob. Everyone was super helpful at that point and gave me ride alongs and helped me get signed up and everything. So my advice is "just show up."

There are two types of memberships to the SCCA as of this year. A regular, card carrying, dues paying member, that pays $80 to join the SCCA for a year; and a weekend member, who pays $15 for a weekend membership. One type of membership is REQUIRED at all SCCA events starting this year.
