Exclamation Got a ticket and I'm taking my defective 08 back to the dealer!

Its just a little too refined and I just can't keep tabs on my speed ! I made a left onto a 40mph street in a commercial area on a Saturday, banged through 1st and into 2nd, then coasted. [Luvly bit of 2 lanes with a median.] I crossed a little bridge and a 30mph sign, then began braking coming into the residential area. I saw the friendly neighborhood PD car just about then and I stood on the brakes a little harder as I rolled by. Oh well, 59 in 30 and a lecture that 60 would have been reckless and arrestible in WA (or is that irrestible? -- those Brembos paid for themselves). What could I say? I was driving like a bit of a knob and got caught . [Granted, it could have been much worse. Glad my GSXR happened to be in stuck in front of the STi on this day.]

This ticket is going to make a big dent in my "stupid mistake" budget. [My ex-wife draws a healthy sum from this monthly.] I might have to borrow from my "expensive stuff I don't need" budget.

I never got tickets when I drove my friend's 05 for a summer while he was out of the country. I'm going to take this 08 back and complain to the dealer. Make it harsher or less fun to drive -- dang it. And why build a car that accelerates like this (wet or dry) when there 30 and 70 mph speed limits? Subaru is just plain irresponsible!

Just great something else to worry about. First it was the paint, then the engine and now my license what a car...

Those WA cops are asshats... I once got a ticket for "turning too fast" in my 300ZXTT. I was not breaking the speed limit at all, my tires did not squeal at all, but apparently going around a 90 degree corner at 30mph is reckless?! The cop wasn't impressed with my nissan branded supercar excuse.

That is too funny! I would love to see you take a hidden camera to the dealership and try and pull that off.

lol~~

you should also complain to the dealer that it catches the eyes of the law...

i got my first ticket in my 08 sti in day 3. for a rolling stop right near my house by a jr hs. the cop advised me that lucky for me, there were no children around. had there been children, the fines would have been doubled... so after he writes me up, he proceeds to tell me what a sweet lil car i have, and that he has a vw r32 blah blah blah blah blah... this whole time im thinking, oh so you have a imaginary thing called "fast".... i have "Fast"

<snort>

I just got pulled over a half hour ago myself. Just profiling, and I'm surprised it took this long (hasn't happened since I bought the car two and a half years ago). "Is that an aftermarket muffler?" "Why yes it is, officer." "Does it make the car faster?" "A bit." "Okay, just checking, I wasn't profiling, have a nice day."

Any cop who has to proclaim he wasn't profiling ... was . The look on his face was priceless. I think he was expecting some high school kid. I was driving quite sedately, so I knew it had to be for the tint or the exhaust (and I'm glad it was the latter, I don't want to give up my tint). I thought about telling him that kids can't afford to buy these cars (where I live, that's true ).

I'm actually quite glad he didn't see me at another time. More often than not, I'm not in such a lackadaisical mood. Although he stopped me on my own road, and I never break 25 within a mile or so of my house. Gotta keep a good rep with the neighbors .

I have the exact same policy...no speeding and no loud music near my neighborhood.

I do that for all neighborhoods - that and school zones. Only places where I respect the speed limit.

I agree Subaru wasn't really thinking when they designed our cars. Too much power and waay too much fun to drive. I think I'll write a letter to SOA and complain.

Sounds like you need a radar detector budget...
