So after seeing several in person I have to say I like DGM less than I thought I would and Aspen White more so than I thought I would.

I know it is all personal preference, but am curious why other folks are picking the colors they are.

My vote: I think I am still leaning towards DGM because it is close to the dark gray I was always hoping for after CGM came out, but AW is now a close second.

I love DGM, but my second choice is the silver. White is nice, but the silver has a glean to it that makes it sexy (Seen two silvers and two whites in person). From certain distances/angles, it looks almost indistinguishable from the white but the shine is awesome. Up close I think the silver is the only color that really pulls off the stock tails with no modification, as well as the badge surround - they match the silver nicely. And the 5 spoke wheels look great too on silver too - with white you gotta get the goldies.

Its funny, but the colors on the 08 are amazing. Other than not wanting a bright color like red or blue they are all amazing. Even a silver which would normaly look boring( came from 2 silver cars) it looks amazing.

DGM is awsome but a pita to keep clean!! WRB/gold looks freakin good to.

There's a dealership about 3 blocks from my house that has a silver, white, and blue sitting in a row out front. Maybe I'll stroll down there with a camera so you can compare directly

The color seems to affect the overall look of the car a lot more than normal on the '08 STI. White makes it look very tall, whereas black makes it look a lot more compact. I loved WRB on my '07, but don't like it as much on the '08. I usually love red, but it didn't grab me this time. Silver shows the lined very well. In the end I liked the way that black makes the car appear more compact, so I went with DGM because it keeps this visual compactness but the deep metallic shows off the lines nicely. Plus, wait until you see it clean and in the sun - DGM has a great deep, almost metalflake to it that is killer.

White with gold bbs was my 1st choice. However, my gf said the white/gold combo looks like a boy-racer........So I opted for DGM with more subtle look

My vote is for White.

I can't get a black car cause I am coming from a black car and don't like the maintance of having to keep it so clean in the snow belt area it really is alot of work.

Saw the red at the NAIAS and said not bad then saw the DGM at the Toronto Show and was ok with it. But then I saw a white one and my heart almost stopped. I have had to spend nights looking for a white one in my area (buying in the US)

I was going to get silver but when I was about to say yes 4 other silver cars pulled up beside me and i was like no thanks.

Plus i think the white and gold rims make a statement... SEXY...

i LOVE the dgm!!! thats the color that sold me on the car when i was browsing thru subaru's website in december. the dgm with the silver bbs. it was love at first sight for me. i chose the aspen white cuz white is just an easy color to keep clean for a lazy ass guy like me. i asked the dealer what color is the hardest to come by, he says the aw is the rarest. i think he meant it was rarest at the dealership at that moment cuz i see a ton of aw sti's. another case of dealer sales person blowing hot air outta their arse.

AW, WRB, Red

Black = Never liked black cars. The curves, lines and details get lost in it. Black cars however do look good when they´re shiny.. but hard as hell to maintain clean.
DGM = Almost the same as with black. The color looks awesome in the right lighting, but again it´s too dark for me.
Midnight Blue = Too dark. Looks good in the right amount of lighting but it´s sometimes hard to see the blueish tones in this color. It´s so dark you could as well just go with black or even DGM which is far nicer (DGM that is). Doesn´t fit STI at all.
WRB = I liked the older cars in blue, but never wanted it really because every other STi was WRB. But for some reason I think it looks awesome on the 08. Tied for third place.
White = Love it in white, but as someone mentioned here, it makes the car a bit tall. Had a white 07 STi and it was very hot.
Silver = Second place. Propably the best color to show off the fenders, curves and lines of the body. Really throws it at you. Reason I didn´t get that one is mainly because I´ve had two Imprezas in silverish colors already.
Red = Ahh my numero uno color. I wished they had the 06-07 in red but when I was told the 08 was coming in red it was in instant order. No thought. Just order. I think it looks kickass in red.

So the list would be...

1 = Red
2 = Silver
3 = White / WRB
4 = DGM
5 = Black
6 = Midnight Blue

DGM is my favorite color by far and the one I'm waiting on right now. Blue is pretty common, it's usually the color I see with previous gen STI. Black is of course incredible, but I couldn't deal with the upkeep. Silver is always classy and it was my second favorite color. White is boring, would never own a white car. That and whenever I see a white car I think "chick color" and usually it's a woman driver.

Let me just warn you that maintaining a clean DGM is about the same as maintaining a clean black car.
