IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I'm doing some research and trying to understand how far I would have to go to get into the low 12 or 12s. Can a full tuned stage 2 (TBE, down, up, headers, intake, map, tune, etc.) really do this or do I need to upgrade the turbo (something I really don't want to do)? I was hoping people with previous mod experience (all years) could chime in and set me expectations. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Throw in some 100 octane and high 11s should be a sure thing, if you can drive the car. An 04-06 protuned stage 2 (TBE+ptune) STI is typically a mid 12s car that traps around 107-109mph. If the two '08s tuned by AMR are anything to go by, you should be in the mid to low 12s on pump gas. Add headers, intake, meth or 100 octane, and a good tune and 11s should be within reach. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | yep. The VF48 turbo def has more capability. The only real mod I would say to guarantee 11's would be conversion to external waste gate. The only real downfall of Subaru's setup besides the weak flow head is the turbo boost tapering down at 6000 rpm. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Really, the VF48 is that capable huh? I plan to head to AMR soon for a stage 2 kit (as soon as I call them!) but I wasn't sure if there are enough parts out there to really do a complete stage 2. The only vendor I know for instance that does headers is Perrin (not that there is anything wrong with that but I like to have choices). Btw, how reliable is a stage 2 kit for all year round driving? |

My stage 2 is pretty much on the most minimal end as I have TBE w/ cat and tune and thats it. Stock headers, intake, etc. With catless, intake, headers, and race fuel it would be low 12s easy throw in meth 11s should be no prob. |

Yeah trap speed is a better indicator of the real power a car is making. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. | |
