I saw this pop up today. It just so happens that my gf is shopping for cars and likes the Mazda 3. I'm buying her car, so I said that I'd only buy one in MS3 form. My problem with the car is that it really does look like a wagon in profile, it's thin in width with no wheel well bulge, and overall, it's just feminine. If I fatten up the wheels, I may be able to find a little respect for my reflection. The MS3 version helps merely by having some kick, but I would still feel lame in the MS3. If I get the MS3 for her, I'll tint the windows, just in case I get stuck driving it for some unforeseen reason. It's beginning to look as though I'll be picking up the MS3 for her, but the verdict is still out for my toy car. I'm waiting for Subaru's response to 08 problems. I changed my mind on the Porsche. It doesn't have the added practicality of the STI: hatch hauling space and AWD.

See post #33 in this thread. GilMakalian posted a photo of side-by-side rear views of the MS3 and the '08 STi. I was shocked at the magnitude of the difference.

COBALT SS? I test drove the HHR ( or should I say turbo lag queen ) up to 127mph on acold motor with 6 miles on the clock. I wonder how people test drive the cobalts?

Not very responsible.

What was your point in doing that?

I actually visited every page in the thread and saw the photo. That was like looking at a hot woman in gramma underwear next to a Victoria's Secret model.

Fokker:

I would really like to see some more side-by-side comparison pictures of the MS3 and the '08 STi.

Front, side and rear would be nice.

If you go shopping with your girlfriend and have a chance to take some photos, would you post them or email them?

Unfortunately, the formula doesn't account for something like a COBB Access Port tune, which gives slightly better fuel economy.

The STI is a clear winner over the MazdaSpeed3, solely because they get nearly the same gas mileage, yet the STI performance vastly better!
