Hmmm, I've never heard of a manufacturer issuing a stop-sales notice on a vehicle with a possible non-safety issue. I'm not saying I doubt it, but something of this magnitude is kind of worrisome. I can't believe Subaru are being so f-ing vague. "Internal wear issue"? wtf does that mean. To me that means piston, bearing, something to do with cams, or what not. My engine is actually pretty loud but I don't recall hearing any knocking. Now I'm going to be paranoid about every little sound until Monday.

If this is correct, my car definitely falls under the listed range (built in Feb, last 6 digits after list number)...

Checked with Irvine Subaru around 7pm earlier this evening... It's true unfortunately. Check with your local dealer (also check the MFD date on the front driver side door panel)... Luckily mine was MFD on 11/07, but just like everyone here, I'm still worried about this... Good luck to you all

Well I guess if you have one of these cars you should just drive it to try to force the problem to manifest and then get it fixed instead of waiting in limbo. I wonder how soon the problem occurs. Also, wtf is an SSLP? Is that loaner car?

Wow, kinda disappointing even though mine doesn't seem to be affected. I'm glad SOA is taking action, hopefully they will have a solution soon. If this gets any worse it may scare off potential 08-09 buyers.

All I gotta say... if you believe this thread, I got some swap land to sell you guys. All you have to do is ask a manager at Subaru and they will know.

How long has the 2.5L turbo been around??? give me a break.

I tend to agree that something just doesnt seem right. Almost like a late April fools joke.

Techincally my car falls outside the range yet I posted a thread about a month ago about a rod knocking noise. Wondering now if its related.
