wow that kinda worries me too. I've been told "It's on scheduel" but who knows... I mean, my dealer can't even find out the VIN# of the cars they are getting. They are just told "they are ok" from the distributors. Makes you feel assured doesn't it?

Doesn't bother me much.. I'm more than happy to wait until they give the green light, rather than getting stuck holding the bag.. In the meantime, I've been driving a courtesy loaner 2008 Legacy sedan that they gave me when I sold my WRX, because they thought it was only going to be a few days before the car arrived... lol ... 3 weeks + 1500 miles later, and I'm still enjoying myself (it's got a great moonroof!!)

Conceivably, a bad tune could jack up your bearings. If you detonate, pouding those rods down into the bearings while the rods are still on the way up could have an effect on lots of things. Bearings being one of them.

I'm just curious how many people have taken delivery since the STOP SALE has been issued?

It's really starting to piss me off how the experiences of real people trying to buy cars aren't matching all the crap I'm hearing from sales people. I've got 3 different stories now from 3 different sales people at different dealerships.

I should be driving my new STI away from a dealer in about 2 weeks (at the longest, according to him). I have no idea how this is possible given what you guys are finding.

Call me impulsive...but I'd have a heck of a time waiting for this car. It's that whole delay of gratification thing...never was good at it. So I feel for ya brother. It's worth the wait though!

My STi was driven from a dealer in CT to the dealer I purchased it from in RI. That was on 4/08, the day after the stop sale. Its VIN falls within the affected numbers. 136 miles on a car that wasnt supposed to be driven. The person that drove the car said it sounded perfect, no noise. Its still sitting at the dealer...

. I'd have smacked that boy upside the head. Assuming it was your car that he made that determination with. "Here's your new car, damn it's fast!"

X2. Cars should come with a valet mode that's unlocked when the car is purchased.

I had been waiting for over two months and got a call this past tuesday that my car was part of the stop sale and on hold in japan. Luckily they located me a car (manuf. in december) and since it wasn't the original color i ordered subaru threw in the included accessories that were on the vehicle the dealership found for free. I get to pick her up tomorrow!!!
