Very nice Jon, congrats!

could someone post a video with what this noise sounds like...I hear a distinct noise when I am at 3k - 4k rpm in 2nd/3rd (any higher and road noise is too loud too hear the sound from engine). my car was made in 11/2007 so hopefully I am just being paranoid.

Has anyone logged into my.subaru.com that is within the vin range to see if there is a notice there??

I tried this, and with my mfg. date of 11/07, nothing showed up.

I'm glad I got one of the first STIs. production date 11/07.

I have about 4000kms on my Stg 2 and no issues at all except for brake noises. I think there is dust build up and needs to be braked hard once in awhile. Time for some slotted or cross drilled rotors.

Interested to see how things play out will this stop sale. I give props to Subaru for being proactive. They could of sat on their arse and let it play out.

Was thinking. Doesent this mean that no subaru delear can sell a car with a 2.5l turbo thats on there lot and is in the date range till this gets resolved?

This could really hurt them. They are going to have to repair all these brand new cars. And how long would it take to get new car stock with out this problem?

Honestly I'm not to worried... know that if any thing goes wrong SCI will step up and get it fixed.

That is why we have warranty. With car technology getting more complicated it's expected that there will be a few bugs or errors along the way. Whether we hear about it that's another thing. So I'm glad that Subaru is taking a proactive approach to this.

Still going to drive my car like I stole it.

^^ He makes a good point... Like because of this do you think maybe later the dealers will hook it up with an 08 for cheaper than what everyone else had paid for or no?

Lol mine is about to go on the boat... It was schedueled to come in at the end of the month. Wonder when they fixed the problem at the factory. But if the cause is not clear yet, it's obvious that they can't pull it from the assembly line either. That means all production for the 2.5L turbo engine is at a standstill now. OUCH

But if it is a simple tune, they just need couple days to re-tune and test. SoA should be calling the tuner shops for some advice. Kinda gets me worried though, since the problem is now confirmed for the Legacy and Outback models too.

I have spoken with the service advisor and sales manager about this and they have no news other than the bulletin. The sales manager believes we will have an answer in the next couple of days. Until then these guys will sit waiting for a new home. (the white sheet of paper in the windshield says DO NOT SELL)

This is the funniest reply I've seen in this thread.

On a more serious note, I hope my Scooby brothers get this worked out soon. I know I'd be concerned if I was in your position, and I do genuinely feel for you guys.
