Not to suggest being underhanded with a warranty issue, but since the factory settings can be reinstated at any time with the Accessport, isn't a stage 1 flash pretty much between you and your car? Or does the ECU kiss and tell somehow?

I did not know that its dangerous to go stage 1 without a boost gauge. Is it sketchy like that? or just paranoid people?

Oh and with the navigational system, cant you use that as a Boost Gauge aswell???

can't you use the AP as a real-time boost guage? If so, then once you get experience and trust with the new map, you could remove the AP and sleep well at night knowing Perrin did their homework properly.

I wouldn't say it is inherently dangerous, but I like to know when I'm spiking (not creeping) to 21psi. Obviously, a boost gauge won't show you if your car is pulling timing due to knock. Still, I tend to err on the side of caution but that's just me.

Yes you could, but that gauge only goes up to 18.x psi and our cars can easily spike above that given the tune, parts, conditions, etc. Personally, I'll be datalogging for the first few days of stage 1 as that is infinitely more useful than the AP's "live gauge" reading, which doesn't even have a MAX feature (unless they added that feature recently).

What difference does it make if its spiking to 21 psi... Like how would you be able to change and prevent that from happening? Also shouldnt the map your running keep it at a constant psi that you want to run ex: changing the 3 modes of the 08?

Even if you set a boost target, it is possible for you to overshoot that target, which results in a boost spike and, in extreme cases, can lead to you hitting fuel cut. Overshooting can (obviously) lead to knock as well. It's not a major concern but as I said, I like to monitor things.

Get the car Protuned (or do it yourself once the software is available).

The other option is to use a different restrictor pill:
