Default Perrin or Cobb--I currently

I have an access port from Rallitek and with their tune as well as Cobb's I am over boosting. Is perrin better? Perrin seems to have more parts readily available and more to hit the market soon? I got much better phone service from perrin(talked to the owner) as compared to someone from Cobb who did not seem to know much??
So guys what are thoughts out there on perrin? Is an up pipe worth doing? perrin thinks so. they also have a new intercooler(top mount) and a front mount coming soon, Thoughts please?? They have an intake coming out soon too.

I never had any issues with my Cobb maps, both in Stage 1 or Stage 2. Did you flash using Real Time or did you Reflash? Make sure you Reflashed since not all of the mapping registers with the car if you simply Real Time the map.

By the way, how do you know you're overboosting? How are you datalogging?

um, you can't put a real time map over nothing, so he must have a base map of some kind on there.

Yup, the stock map may be underneath the Real Time.

what is real time? I put the connectors together and remapped according to the access port. I know I over boosted from my GLH turbo. I almost got thrown thru the winshield as everything cut out. I checked the cel and it said out of boost range or something like that?? Thanks guys. Should I return it and get a Perrin? I was running a K&N filter which i have since changed. The tune was fairly fresh too.?? There seems to be a lot of debate about wheteher a K&n lay in is okay.

Return what? The AP? The AP is the same whether you get it from Rallisport or Perrin or Cobb. The "free" maps that they provide are the only difference.

If you are overboosting with the Cobb and Rallisport maps, I'd recommend that you try resetting the ECU (via the AP or battery method.) Definitely get rid of the K&N. While I had no problems running one with my '05, I've heard that the '08 is more picky.

When are you overboosting? Is it during a WOT pull in a high gear from low RPM?

What kind of car do you have?? Put the connectors together?? The 2008 models dont require you to connect anything but the accessport to the OBD port.

You have a GLH turbo say what?

You said you had a KN filter. Did you try running without the intake? Cobb states stock airbox in the map notes.

OK, I HAVE AN 08 STI and I have a cobb downpipe and the access port running the cobb 93 program. I also ran the rallitek 93 program. I connected the green connectores under the passenger side carpet under the bottom of the dash. After I prorammed it then i disconnected them again. Is this correct? I believe I read this somewhere and a rallitek guy told me to do this????
When I overboosted, once was with the cobb tune and once was with the rallitek tune. Both times I had the K&N filter in it. I removed the filter and reprogrammed with the Cobb. I have not done a hard pull in 4th gear yet(that is where it overboosted both times). I heard to give it some time to calibrate and set the adaptives? Have done anything wrong?? Thanks

Hi,
Anytime I have flashed it takes a few spins before it fires up. I have a 08 STi with Cobb stage II and have the same issue as well as others on the forum. The downpipe helped but exhaust is the cure I feel. I also had a Shelby GLHS Turbo Omni #246 ...torque steer extreme..Flipped it 13 times off a bridge into Lake Lanier in Ga. Almost killed myself, still miss the car :-)
Cheers

Turn the key to on, but don't start it, for about 10 seconds. All the DBW cars do that.

No on the connectors. Call COBB to verify. I didn't know the 08 had them.
