Nav 6300 update-speed dial types?

I upgraded the stock STi nav to version 6300-tnx baneonrt. It works fine. I now have speed dial.

It seems i have 3 pages of speed dials. i can enter new ones fine. But somehow, one of them got a little telephone icon next to the number and now is not deletable. i wonder what i did....Are there 2 types of ways to assign a tel number to the speed dials?

This may seem like a dumb question but I will ask anyways..

How do you get the update?

I am looking at getting a new one on Friday so I would like to know what I have to do.
