Default mud flap aerodynamic reprocussions

I'm on my phone, so forgive me for being brief . Any idea how much say RA flaps effect gas mileage? And what does it do to the stability of the vehicle? Thanks.

rally armor claims it doesnt affect the aerodynamics at all... i dont doubt it either.... didn't effect the times on the 1/4 mile they ran, with and without the flaps.... if ya think about it, theres not going to be any wind resistance where the flaps are

I think it affects some but only at very high speeds...this is where you're wasting fuel because you have side mirrors, a radiator etc etc. So I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm putting mine on soon.

My only concern is that in increases the width of the vehicle for AutoX...I'll probably take the flaps off for AutoX to avoid knocking over an extra cone or two...

I have them, and I have never felt any unstableness (instability?) at high speeds. They are behind the tires remember, and they stick out less than an inch....

The amount they stick out is probably still in the boundary layer - so little to no drag.

We too can confirm no mileage changes experienced as well

(addressed in previous thread(s)

Here is the front profile (slight angle/tilt to the right side - 08+ body similar) with the flaps installed. As you can clearly see they do not protrude excessively beyond the body. just enough for great protection.

Thanks much
R/A
