Default New Project STI

Hello,
I just fitted 6 of the Cusco power brace on my new project STI. I got the car on Friday, the 7th and we were able to get some much needed suspension pieces. Keep in mind all these parts were added pieces not replacements. Also, it almost seemed as if the car was intended to have these braces due to screws being in the chasis that doesnt hold anything.
Thanks to Teddy at Mavrik Motorsports for letting me use your shop so late at night and for taking the time to help me with the project.
Here are the pics of the South Coast Subaru project STI.

Cusco Rear Member side Power Brace

Goes in easy with no problems.

Cusco Rear Floor Power Brace

Rear Member Power Brace-Very easy to put on make sure to do only one side at a time.

Lower Center Power Brace-Fairly easy to install but there are black flat plate with a welded nut that is a pain to install.

Here is a pic with everything being done.

Front Bumper Brace-a little harder to instal due to all the clips from the front bumper. Installs perfectly no problems.

Overall the car definitely feels like it doesnt have as much roll.

I installed the Kartboy STI shortshifter with front and rear bushings. Install was very easy. The throw was significantly shortened and the bushing drastically improved the feel of the shifter. I highly recommend to get the bushing and shifter.

The hardest part was getting this pin out.

Can I ask how much coin the power braces set you back? Looks awesome, I'm jealous.

That is pretty nice stuff. I know that had to be at least like $1000+ worth in street price.

Cusco already has all these braces out for the 08 sti? Anyone know if they make a big difference? Are all of them working together efficient? Is it designed for stock suspension?

nice parts for sure....
if anything though, until you get coilovers that is going to increase bodyroll...

at least you're all set for when you do get them..

Do you guys think that for this year, the after market suspension manufacturers are going to take into account that they don't need as stiff of a suspension installed due to the stiffened chassy? IE for better streetability?

Looks great, Ferdie. Are these pieces you are selling at your shop?

On the Cusco Rear Member side Power Brace, did you guys compress the suspension when you tightened the bushing bolts back up?

I expected the same thing but when I took the car out to big willow turning in at speeds up to 90mph there wasnt much body roll at all. From comparing with a completely stock sti there was a little more roll on the stock sti.

I definitely think that will be the direction of the market. The car handled great with stock springs and stock struts. I think better tires would have definitely shaved my time by another 2 seconds. Also, I had no power mods so it will definitely improve my time significantly.
The power braces will be available next week.
I have all the pricing already but cant advertise due to this is not a vendor forum and im not a vendor here.

Mattjk: yes we did.
