Default 08 Seatbest Warning-VERY annoying

hey guys... Found some threads on other year model STI's, but I was wondering if anyone has disable the seatbelt warning on the 08'. This is SOOO annoying. I frequently drive very short distances without my seatbelt and this thing drives me nuts. Also, sometimes I have my dog riding shotgun...

Do we have to take it do the dealer?

Have you tried the method used on past models?
I know this method worked like a charm on the 06 sorry I cant spit on the 08 though.
I would at least try it.

Good luck!

I agree it was VERY annoying for me as well.

Why don't you just wear your seatbelt?

I think it's something like:

Unlock with remote.

Open drivers side door.

Sit down.

Turn car on.

Put seat belt on.
(It's not a permanent fix though, you have to do it every time)

i'm too hardcore for my seatbelt

i hit up a 7-11 everyday before I go to the gym and it's 3 blocks away. sometimes I just like to roll without one. I'm good about putting my seatbelt on when needed, I dont need a chime ringing in my ear.

Directions worked perfectly. Thanks again

MEX: From STARGAZER:

1. Turn the ignition to ON. The engine should be off.
2. Within 30 seconds, insert the buckle in and out 20 times. You can hold the release button down if you like. Just make sure to remove the buckle all the way so that it "registers" in and out.
3. The next time you start the engine, you'll get the initial seatbelt chime, but it won't give you the continual warnings afterwards. You should notice right away that after the initial seatbelt chime, the seatbelt light will turn off and no longer flash.

It must be great to be invincible during that short drive. I unfortunately have to wear a seat belt during my short trips because I am still frail and vulnerable when attacked by 2 ton pieces of road shark.

This thread is sad. Is this really easier than wearing a seat belt? I do enough dangerous things that are really fun that making my life more risky by doing stupid things like not wearing a seat belt seems like a waste.
