Default My Price on the STI

My dealer just quoted me 1K below MSRP on my 2008 STI. Anyone think I can do better and get it for invoice?

If you want to the first one on the block with it, then no. If you can wait it out a bit, then yes, invoice is entirely possible as I believe Subarus generally do not run marked up. It's just supply and demand.

Local to me, invoice is the going rate, so you might do better if you shop around.

When I bought my first STi in 2004 Brand new I got it for $150 below dealer invoice. was somewhere around $29150 if I remember correct and that is when they first came out!!

I would say you should be able to get invoice. Just press the sales man. say you went to a different dealer and they quoted you invoice. It worked for me. I actually was quoted 150 below, and I drove 120 miles because I wanted a white one, and this place was the only one I found that had it in white. When I got there, it was the wrong dealer! lol the one I called wasnt the one that I was thinking of, and this one happened to have a white one on the lot, and the sales man asked me if he could help. I told him the situation, he came back and said what if I could offer you the same price for the car since your already here? and I told him.. .Then you have a deal!! lol

Thats a great price, I'd get it in writing and don't look back. Don't blow that deal over a few hundred, I think they're going to sell for MSRP+ depending on your locale.

Did your dealer say how many are on pre order?

Anything under MSRP is good right now -- 08's aren't even out yet local dealers don't have to bargain. I was quoted MSRP plus $399 "dealer handling"!!!!????

I am getting mine from...

Stohlman Subaru
8433 Leesburg Pike
Vienna , VA 22182
703-893-2990

I ordered mine Nov. 15th or what ever the 1st day that you could do it. They said it will be in sometime in December. I'll believe it when I see it. I bought my WRX from them in 2002 and no one in the area could beat their price. They are easy to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone.

Oh, and no he did not say how many were on pre-order. I was second in line to get one from this dealer. I put a deposit down in October for it. It was only $250.00 deposit.

I got NAV/BBS + a whole bunch of other options. Armrest, roof rack, rubber floor mats, wheel locks, homelink / security, auto dimming mirror. and some other little things. He said MSRP was 39,678.00 and would give me 1K off of that. So about 38K.

ouch!! I like the nav, just because it cleans up the interior, but I'd rarely use it. The BBS are definitely WAYYY overpriced, and I think I like the cheapo wheel looks better anyway.
